Plattenseer Klößchen

Serves 4 

100g bacon, diced

3 medium size onions, chopped

2 tbsp flour

400g minced pork
100g minced beef

3 tbsp parsley

2 eggs

2 tbsp breadcrumbs

1 ½ tsp salt

½ tsp black pepper

5 tsp paprika

1 beef stock cube

4 tbsp canned milk/long life cream

·      Fry half the bacon and 2/3 of the onions until golden. Add 1 tbsp flour and fry for 1 min.

·      Add bacon and onion to mince. Also, add parsley, eggs, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper and 2 tbsp paprika. Mix well with hands (do was them first!) and form meatballs. à it’s easier with wet hands!!

·      Bring 1 l water to boil. Cook meatballs for 10 mins.

·      Dissolve stock cube in 2 cups of water.

·      Fry remaining bacon and onions. Add 1 tbsp flour and 3 tsp paprika.

·      Pour stock over onion bacon mix and add milk.

·      Drain meatballs and add to bacon-stock sauce. Let simmer for further 10 minutes.
