One-Egg Chocolate Cake

50g butter

1 tbsp golden syrup

1 egg

½ cup sugar


1 tbsp cocoa

1 cup flour

1 tsp baking powder

¾ cups milk

·      Melt butter and syrup in a saucepan. Put melted ingredients into a bowl.

·      Add egg and sugar and beat well.

·      Sift cocoa, flour and baking soda together.

·      Fold sifted ingredients and vanilla into egg mix.

·      Dissolve baking soda in milk and fold into egg mix.

·      Pour mix into a greased tin.

·      Bake at 190°C for 30 mins or until cake springs back when lightly touched.
