Apfelkuchen

250g butter

1¼ cups sugar

3¼ cups flour

6 tsp baking powder

4 eggs

2 large Granny Smith apples, sliced

2 tbsp sugar

2 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp almond essence

icing sugar

whipped cream

·      Put butter and first measure sugar, flour, baking powder and eggs into a bowl and mix until smooth.

·      In a separate bowl combine second measure of sugar, cinnamon and almond essence.

·      Spoon 2/3 of the batter in a greased round cake tin.

·      Arrange apples on top.

·      Spoon remaining batter over apples.

·      Bake at 180°C fro 35 mins.
